I am a cub and helped out at our cub food drive for 4 weeks and I had a lot of fun giving other people food to eat and water.  And I hope you gave some food to the people and I hope you felt happy when you helped.  Thank you for helping.

Santa Boxes by Kael 8

It felt awesome when I delivered presents door to door.  My dad, me and my sister went.  So this is what you do, you go to a church and go in it and you get a bunch of presents and you take them to your car and you put them in your car and the presents have like labels where they live and that stuff.  So you go to their house, in some case apartments, and you say who you are and what you are doing and so that’s how you do Santa boxes and I just loved that warm feeling in you.

I think that delivering the Santa boxes was fun because… I was giving up my free time to help the community.  The parents looked happy that they would be making their kids happy.  I hope the people who got Santa boxes had a good Christmas and a happy new year.

I took part in our food drive and I felt good because I get to give healthy food to people who never got it and we took a picture of all of the food the pack brought to people we don’t know and I also feel happy because I could put a smile on somebody’s face who never got that stuff that they need to be healthy.

Doing the Santa boxes I felt very happy because I was giving stuff to other people that were poor people.  It made the other kids that got something happy and that’s why I’m happy.  I picked the boxes up at a church and I took the boxes to the poor people at their door.  They were kind of shy when I came in and after they got their box or boxes they were very happy because it was their first set of fun stuff to do and play with.

Hi, I’m Garrett and I’m a first Centenary cub.  I help my community by donating food to food banks.  Each week for the month of November we bring food for a food bank.  I brought cans of soup and other similar items.  I hope they got lots of Kraft dinner because it’s sooo good.  I love it.  I hope the people who got the food have a wonderful life and that they get more food soon.

Hello my name is Ashley.  I am 10 years old.  I’m a cub.  There are several reasons why I love helping kids and giving them Santa boxes.  I love to see citizens/kids smile. I think the meaning of Santa boxes is to help kids around the world that don’t get that much and to help the less fortunate.  The reason why I am writing this story is because I like to share my opinion to kids and citizens.

Thank you everyone who participated in the food bank.  I feel happy because everyone will not suffer because of not having any food.  I brought in one can a day.  It feels good.

When I helped with Santa boxes, me, Dad and 8 scouts delivered gifts for the kids that will not get presents for Christmas. 

When we went to one building, it felt like the elevator would break and there were dents from a gun.  At that building we delivered 6 boxes to one apartment.  When I was reading the ages on the boxes, there was a 0 year old that was so little she didn’t even have a name.  I felt sorry that she would have to live there.

Another building that we delivered to smelled really bad.  I felt sorry for the kids there too.  I wanted to get out of that building as soon as possible.  I couldn’t believe that people had to live in places like that.

My name is Jessica.  I am a cub from 1^st Centenary and I’m 9 years old and in grade 4.  I’m a helper of my community.  I helped with a food bank at St. Edmund Campion every Wednesday for four weeks so hungry people can get food.  I think we should do this so lots of hungry people in Toronto get food and not be hungry.  I am writing this so people can read this.

When I delivered the Santa boxes a girl opened the door and she was shy and when we gave her the Santa box she was happy.  I think when she opened the Santa box she was happy because she got a gift from me and the cubs and the Toronto Star.  When I delivered the Santa boxes I was sad and happy.  I was sad because they were poor people who had no money.  I was happy because they got gifts and they had stuff to play with.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

It felt great to be a food drive helper.  At the end we took a picture of everyone and all the food we took in.  After we took the picture we sent all the food to food banks.  Why I felt so great is because I knew that it would put food on somebody’s table and a smile on somebody’s face.
